Small, light, autonomous, less costly to maintain… Alsace-based Lohr’s rail project has it all. Designed to revive disused railway lines, it should be on the rails in 2026.
With decree 2022-664, the French government has created the legal basis for derogating from European interoperability rules on railway lines used exclusively for local passenger transport or for passenger and freight transport.
Lohr is working in a consortium with the SNCF and three other partners on a "hybrid" light train capable of reducing the operating costs of passenger transport on small regional lines
